2023 Graduate Nurse Program - General and Mental Health pathways

Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a comprehensive range of high quality acute, sub-acute, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care and community health services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and healthcare needs.
We have an opportunity to join Eastern Health as a novice nurse, in our 2023 Graduate Nurse Program (General and Mental Health streams). The positions are part time - 0.8 EFT (64 hours per fortnight)
Please Note: We will be conducting interviews in June/July and offering positions in late October in the event there are unmatched positions following the outcome of PMCV Allocation and Placement Service match (as per the business rules and timelines of PMCV Allocation and Placement Service).
- Our Transition to Practice Programs are progressive, responsive innovative and inter professional.
- We use the latest evidence to develop our program study days together with regular feedback from our graduates. We support and facilitate the development of a well prepared, high quality, safe nursing workforce committed to improving health outcomes.
- We have multiple pathways for the Graduate Nurse/Midwifery Program including:
- General Nursing (6 months in two areas) - see EH website for more details.
- Blended Rural (6 months at Alexandra District Health) and Metropolitan (6 months at Eastern Health)
- Pure Mental Health (12 months)
- Blended Mental Health (6 months) and General Nursing (6 months)
- Pure Midwifery (12 months, multiple rotations) - not included in this advert
- Blended Midwifery (12 Months) and General Nursing (6 months) - not included in this advert

- General Pathway- 2 most recent acute (1 acute, 1 sub-acute acceptable if sub-acute is more recent)
- Mental Health Pathways- Most recent acute and Mental Health appraisal
