About Eastern Health:

Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We are a values-based organisation committed to research and teaching, and have strong affiliations with Australia’s top universities. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services, including maternity, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care, community health and state-wide specialist services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and healthcare needs.

About the role:

We have various, ongoing opportunities for Registered and Enrolled Nurses on our nurse pools at Angliss, Box Hill, Maroondah and Wantirna Health/Peter James Centre hospital sites. Our pool nurses enjoy permanent roles and the variety that comes from working across a variety of wards at their designated site, instead of working exclusively on one ward. Pool nurses are contracted to work an agreed set number of shifts and are provided a roster in advance. Information about the ward/area of work is provided closer to the commencement of each shift.

At Eastern Health, you will be a valued member of a highly dedicated, multi-disciplinary team incorporating medical, nursing and allied health professionals.  We pride ourselves on going above and beyond to provide our patients with timely access to the best possible care. You will be supported by a team of experienced clinicians, including clinical educators and a cohesive leadership team. With a strong commitment to research and teaching, we offer many professional development opportunities, and our online learning platform, iLearn, holds a wealth of information to assist you with your ongoing learning and development.

Our sites have a range of acute and sub-acute specialties and wards. More about each hospital site can be found via the links below.

When applying, please nominate your preferred site location.

International applicants welcome.

About you:

You are dedicated, empathetic and adaptable. You understand, and are interested in, the complex and varied patient presentations cared for in the hospital setting. You are able to work a full rotating roster and can commit to a minimum of five shifts per fortnight.

To be successful in this role you should possess:

  • Current registration with AHPRA (essential)
  • Successful completion of a nurse graduate program (essential)
  • Recent acute nursing experience (within Australia)
