Spectrum
Spectrum is the personality disorder service for Victoria, funded by the Department of Health and provided by Eastern Health. Spectrum provides direct clinical care for people with complex and or severe personality disorders, secondary consultations and second opinions for clinicians managing BPD. Spectrum also offers a range of workforce development opportunities including training and carer support workshops. Spectrum’s growing research program includes collaborative projects with a range of education, government and community organisations as well as evaluation of its treatment programs.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organisation to lead and support a range of research projects within an established research team. The scope of work includes externally funded projects, internal evaluations, collaborative projects, and co-supervision of student-led research. The role entails ongoing contribution through project development, management, contributing to and assisting with grant and/or funding applications, and contribution to dissemination activities.
Key Selection Criteria
- Post-graduate tertiary qualification in the health, social or behavioural sciences field
- Experience in the design and conduct of complex research projects
- Experience in the set up, management and analysis of very large datasets
- Demonstrated high level quantitative and/or qualitative research skills
- Demonstrated high level ability to produce timely, high quality research reports
- A demonstrated track record in the publication of research articles in peer-reviewed journals
- Ability to project manage a number of research projects, including design, ethics applications, data collection, data management, analysis and dissemination of findings
- Experience in preparing grant and tender submissions
- Ability to conceptualise new research ideas and apply appropriate methodology
- Ability to supervise and manage research staff and/or students
- Well-developed computing skills, including word processing (e.g. Microsoft Office) and database software packages (e.g. SPSS, Stata, Nvivo, Access)
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to working as part of a team
