Intensive Care Physician

The Position:

Eastern Health seeks to appoint suitably qualified medical practitioners, to permanent part-time and fulltime positions of Intensive Care Physician.  We are also seeking to appoint Intensive Care Physicians in a locum capacity.

Eastern Health Intensive Care Services is a multidisciplinary service that delivers care to critically ill patients and their families. We provide care within an evidence based framework delivered in a compassionate and timely manner. We share the Eastern Health vision promoting outreach to all patients and clinical services. Our team is committed to the continued development of undergraduate, postgraduate students along with junior medical, nursing and allied health staff. We have a clinical care philosophy driven by education, continuous quality improvement and research.

The Eastern Health Intensive Care Service consists of two intensive care units at Box Hill and Maroondah Hospitals, with a third unit scheduled to open at the Angliss Hospital in October 2018.  The successful candidates will contribute to the clinical service provision of Eastern Health Intensive Care Services and would be expected to contribute clinically to any of these sites as service demands require.  Appropriate supervision of junior medical staff and a cordial and respectful relationship with all staff is expected.

To be successful in the role you must:

• have excellent clinical skills;
• have extensive experience in intensive care medicine;
• have a fellowship with the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (FCICM ANZ)
• hold current medical registration with AHPRA
• have highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
• have a strong commitment to high quality care
• have the ability to work as part of a diverse team
• have excellent communication and organisational skills
