Position Summary

Senior Health Promotion Worker - Grade 3

  • Permanent Part Time (0.84 EFT - 64hrs/fortnight)
  • Annual Salary $102,000 (Pro rata for part time staff) and generous salary packaging benefits available
  • Healesville Hospital and Yarra Valley Health
  • Deliver primary prevention projects in the Yarra Ranges

About the role

The Grade 3 Health Promotion Officer will be a role model for others, demonstrating superior consolidated skills. They oversee the planning, evaluation and delivery of Eastern Health’s commitments for the delivery of our Integrated Health Promotion Plan. The Grade 3 Health Promotion Officer has a key role in integrating best practice evidence with policies, guidelines and local and population health data, stakeholder priorities and translating this into practice. The Worker must have a solid understanding of health promotion theory and practice as well as solid evaluation skills.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • A tertiary qualification in Health Promotion or any other undergraduate or postgraduate qualification relevant to the field of Health Promotion.
  • Relevant health promotion and leadership experience.
  • Experience in supervision of staff and students.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate best practice evidence with policies, guidelines, local and population health data, stakeholder priorities and translating this into practice
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Experience in leadership of staff, including professional development and supervision.

Selection Criteria Essential: A tertiary qualification in Health Promotion or any other undergraduate or postgraduate qualification relevant to the field of Health Promotion.
Essential: Relevant health promotion and leadership experience.

Essential: Sound knowledge of community organisations and networks.
Essential: Strong computer literacy.
Desirable: Eligible for Health Promotion Practitioner Registration through the Australian Health Promotion Association
Desirable: Post-Graduate qualifications in Health Promotion or Public Health or any other post-graduate qualification relevant to the field of Health Promotion.
Desirable: Experience working on healthy eating, physical activity and/or tobacco and e-cigarette prevention initiatives.
Desirable: Confidence in public speaking to large groups.
Desirable: Experience in clinical education of staff and students.
