Outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced Palliative Care registered nurse who is passionate and committed to providing exceptional patient and family care and looking to take that next step in their nursing leadership career.  The role of Associate Nurse Unit Manager – Palliative Care Unit, located at Wantirna Health, will provide clinical leadership to the nursing team whilst driving a culture of professional development at all levels.  Working in conjunction with the Nurse Unit Manager, the ANUM will help develop and progress improvement plans that are aligned with Eastern Health’s Strategic Plan.

 

The Supportive and Palliative Care Unit comprises 32 specialist palliative care beds offering symptom assessment and management, palliative respite and end of life care.  It is a purpose designed facility to maximise patient comfort and care, with a committed multidisciplinary team.  The patient cohort includes those with malignant and non-malignant illness with a strong focus on patient and family centred care, from a holistic perspective.

 

This is a great opportunity to play an integral role in driving change and initiatives on the ward as part of the leadership group working with a multidisciplinary team to provide quality care to our consumers. 

 

To be successful in this role you should possess:

  • Current nursing registration with AHPRA
  • Excellent knowledge of best practice in palliative care nursing
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or CNS position
  • Post Graduate qualifications in in palliative care (desirable)
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • A desire to work within a team model of care
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
