An outstanding opportunity exists for a passionate and motivated mental health registered nurse, with sound clinical knowledge and experience, to join the mental health leadership team at Eastern Health in the role of Nurse Unit Manager – Aged Acute Mental Health. This role provides an opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team who are dedicated to ensuring that excellent and consistent patient oriented care is delivered.

 

South Ward, located at Peter James Centre in Burwood, is a 30 bed aged acute mental health inpatient unit which provides a specialist mental health service for people over the age of 65 with a mental illness.

 

The Nurse Unit Manager will provide supportive and engaging leadership whilst role modelling best practice behaviours and values.  This is a permanent full-time role.

 

To be successful in this role you should possess:

  • Registration as a Nurse with current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), registration certificate
  • Post Graduate qualifications relevant to the position and/or leadership and management or enrolled in appropriate course at time of employment or equivalent experience
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
