About the role
Eastern Health is offering the opportunity to participate in a 6 month Transition to Specialty Practice program in Mental Health Nursing. This program intends to provide an introduction for those wishing to pursue a career in Mental Health.
This structured program incorporates both theoretical elements in addition to practical experience with allocated study days, learning packages and clinical assessments. During the course, participants will be supported by experts within the clinical facility and the clinical education team of the Learning and Teaching Directorate.
The program provides a career pathway for those Registered Nurses seeking to work in the mental health speciality environment whilst enhancing their critical thinking, theoretical knowledge and clinical skills and is an excellent stepping stone to Post Graduate studies.
Eastern Health is offering opportunities across Maroondah Hospital, Box Hill Hospital, and Peter James Centre in Acute Mental Health Inpatient Units. This includes Community Care Units, Adult, Older Persons, & Adolescent mental health settings.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Registered Nurse Registration with AHPRA
- Minimum of 12-months experience working as a registered nurse; preferably having completed a Graduate Program previously
- Proactive, reflective, self-directed learner
- Well-developed communication skills
- Patient centred practice
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Passion for clinical excellence
- Willingness to engage in clinical supervision and reflective practice
- Willingness to work rotating roster
- A current valid Victorian Drivers Licence
- Up to date Vaccinations COVID-19 & Influenza
