We have an exciting and unique opportunity for a dynamic and experienced aged care registered nurse, with recent leadership skills and capability and experience with psychogeriatric patients, to come be part of our Eastern Health senior management team as Facility Manager, Mooroolbark Aged Psychogeriatric Residential Care Facility. This is a great opportunity to work in the public health sector and further develop your leadership experience and skills whilst being part of a values based supportive team. The position is permanent full time – Monday to Friday.
Mooroolbark Aged Psychogeriatric Residential Care Facility is a 30 bed residential interim care facility for people over 65 years located in the suburb of Mooroolbark. The facility’s interdisciplinary team provides holistic care to residents referred to our service from the Aged Person Mental Health in Patient Unit (Peter James Centre).
Working closely with the Director of Nursing/Associate Program Director – Residential Aged Care Services you will lead and support an established nursing team in providing resident centred care to residents and their families in Aged Psychogeriatric residential care. Role modelling best practice behaviours and values through your leadership will ensure the nursing team are delivering excellent and consistent patient orientated care.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Hold current nursing registration with AHPRA
- Hold a post graduate diploma in psychiatric/mental health nursing or completed a specialist under graduate psychiatric nursing program
- Have excellent knowledge of best practice in aged care and psychogeriatric nursing
- Be passionate about providing patient centred care
- Have demonstrated clinical leadership experience and skills
- Be highly accountable and display a supportive and engaging style
