About the role
Turning Point is a national treatment, research and education centre that provides leadership in the alcohol and drug, gambling and mental health sectors in Victoria and beyond. Combining innovative research in the clinical, population health and policy fields, with service innovation, surveillance, system enhancements, capacity building and specialist support, Turning Point assists services, communities and the Victorian government to respond to current and emerging alcohol and drug and gambling issues.
Turning Point is part of Eastern Health, the largest public health provider in the eastern suburbs, providing a comprehensive range of high quality acute, sub-acute, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care and community health services. We are also strongly affiliated with Monash University and deliver a number of higher education qualifications in partnership with them.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver and evaluate education and training programs
- Deliver education and support programs
- Liase with a range of stakeholders in the AOD sector
- Prepare timely and relevant written reports (e.g. for The Department of Health or other publications)
- Undertake wider administrative duties of the Program as well as the organisation more broadly as required in consultation with the Workforce Development Manager.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- A content related degree
- Experience in a relevant field as a teacher/ trainer
- Experience in the alcohol and drug / mental health field or sound understanding of current alcohol and drug / mental health issues
- Preferably a current training and assessment qualification
- Capacity to design curricula, deliver and evaluate courses
- Well-developed word processing (Microsoft Office suite), PowerPoint and other computer skills
- Capacity to conceptualise and manage projects
- Highly developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the ethical standards required when working with marginalized groups
- Well-developed oral presentation skills
- Strong work ethic
