About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Mental Health Clinician to join the ICYMHS Community Engagement team working in the area of Youth Homelessness. This is an exciting opportunity to work in partnership with youth homelessness agencies to support young people across the Eastern Metropolitan Region who are experiencing mental health issues (no formal diagnosis required) and are homeless/at risk of homelessness. Young people also impacted by drug and alcohol use will be a priority group. The Youth Homelessness position aims to improve access to mental health and drug and alcohol services for this vulnerable group of young people and you will work in a secondary consultation model with youth homelessness agencies. You will also be involved in providing training and education for a range of youth and homelessness focussed services aimed at building knowledge and understanding about mental illness and drug and alcohol use.
The position will be based at our Ringwood East site, Wundeela and services will be delivered at Youth Homelessness sites across the Eastern Metropolitan Region.
The successful applicant will have experience in clinical mental health settings including working with young people with comorbid drug and alcohol problems and experience in education and training.

- Current registration with your professional body
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- A strong commitment to high quality clinical care
- Experience in providing secondary consultation
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Ability to develop partnerships and work collaboratively with external agencies
- A current Drivers Licence and willingness to travel within the Eastern Metropolitan region of Melbourne
- A current Working with Children’s Check
