About the role

As the leading agency of the inner east AOD consortium (ECADS),Turning Point Eastern Treatment Service (TPETS) is looking for permanent full-time or permanent part time Intake counsellors who are enthusiastic, passionate and experienced in Counselling and Intake to join our multi-disciplinary team at Carrington Road, Box Hill  site in providing high quality AOD intake service to our clients and their families. The roles will be part of a team that provides critical point of entry into the Victorian AOD treatment system as well as supporting the movement of existing AOD clients through the service system

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Qualifications in alcohol and drug studies with a minimum expectation of Certificate IV in alcohol and drug work.
• Experience and demonstrated skills in alcohol and other drug counselling, intake and assessment and client referral pathways.
• Demonstrated understanding of harm reduction as a key concept underpinning approaches to client care in the Australian alcohol and drug sector as well as an appreciation of principles of recovery, including social connectedness, holistic care provision and peer based examples of wellness.
• Experience in the delivery of counselling, bridging support, brief intervention and care coordination.
• Demonstrated training and experience in providing evidenced-based treatment interventions including Relapse Prevention, Motivational Interviewing and Brief Intervention.
• Proven ability in working within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in working with community based services.

About the role

2 south is a busy surgical area, providing services for day of admission, transit lounge, day surgery recovery ( adult & paediatric), endoscopy, endoscopy recovery. 

As the ANUM, you will be supported by the NUM and other senior staff. You will join a friendly and highly motivated team and be well supported in your role, and you will work collaboratively with other 2 South ANUMs in fulfilling the EBA and organisational requirements of the ANUM role across morning & afternoon shifts Monday- Saturday.

We are offering a diverse and an interesting ANUM role 80 hours per fortnight and Part time or full time hours will be considered to the suitable applicant. Shifts are 9 hours in length, AM & PM. 

Adult surgical day cases managed here include breast, general surgery, urology, plastics and orthopaedics for both elective and emergency patients. Paediatric patients predominantly undergo plastic or orthopaedic elective and emergency surgery.  Endoscopy patients undergoing gastroscopy, colonoscopy & bronchoscopy are also managed through this area, and previous endoscopy experience will be highly valued in this application, but not essential.

Previous ALS experience will also be highly regarded for this application, but is not essential.

Endoscopy & ALS training will be provided as a requirement of this role for you to contribute to the overall operational needs of the unit.

2 South staff provides an on-call endoscopy service to Maroondah hospital after hours and over the weekends, and this is rotated through all staff.  Our ward operates between 0700-2000 Monday- Friday and 0700-1700 on Saturday.

Eastern Health Integrated Renal Service

The Eastern Health Integrated Renal Service (EHIRS) comprises an acute inpatient unit at Box Hill Hospital, and five satellite sites: Angliss, Box Hill, Healesville, Maroondah and Peter James Centre. We are a well-supported unit with an active research arm, a dedicated renal educator and three clinical support nurses. We use Fresenius 5008 machines, and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of dieticians, a psychologist and a social worker to deliver best possible patient outcomes.

We have a kidney transplant service, and look after more than 200 kidney transplant recipients. We also offer chronic kidney disease (CKD) management, a service supported by a nurse practitioner and renal access coordinators. Furthermore, we support patients with pre- and post-operative transplant care, dialysis access management, and outpatient and home-based renal dialysis.

Secondary consultation is a key aspect of this position as is supervision of more junior staff or students.

The average length of stay for patients is approximately 3 weeks; the program assists clients to achieve their goals-of-care in their own home.

Integrated Services -HARP is a service that targets people with chronic disease, aged and/or complex needs who frequently present to hospital or are at imminent risk of hospitalisation and could benefit from coordinated care. HARP provides short term support and intervention to maintain a person’s optimal independence in enabling them to better manage their condition/s in the community and reduce avoidable hospital admissions.

The HARP Psychology Service aims to assist clients to adjust to and manage their chronic illnesses. All referrals to HARP Psychology will be triaged by the HARP psychologist in discussion with the referrer. If the referral is accepted a psychological assessment will be scheduled with patient consent in order to establish a diagnosis and make recommendations based on the identified needs. This can include identifying barriers to managing their chronic illness including mental health issues e.g. depression, anxiety, adjustment, grief/loss, psychosocial stressors or drug and alcohol issues with the overall goal of reducing the number of hospital presentations, or risk thereof.  The HARP Psychology Service may also include brief psychological intervention and therapy, consultation and liaison with other staff involved in the client’s care, liaison with the client’s doctors, and referral to other services as indicated.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• A Masters or Doctorate degree in clinical psychology
• Endorsement  as a clinical with the Psychology Board of Australia
• Approved  supervisor status with the Psychology Board of Australia
• Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
• Current full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
• Extensive knowledge, experience and ability in the provision of psychological services in a range of clinical settings, including  experience in psychological interventions with depression, anxiety, adjustment issues and chronic disease as well as with more severe mental  health presentations.

 About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work full time in a community care unit which works with a strong recovery focus. • Provide high quality social work, mental health assessments, treatment and consultation services and advice to consumers and carers and team members.

•  A degree qualification in social work that has been approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers for membership as a social worker.

• Demonstrated at least one year’s post graduate experience working as a fully registered social worker in mental health.

The role of the ED Equipment Nurse is to ensure equipment and resources within the Emergency Department meet required standards and are in accordance with relevant legislation. The role is a clinical support role; ensuring all nursing staff receive adequate training and support on all aspects of equipment within the Emergency Department.

The ED Equipment Nurse is responsible for the management and monitoring of consumables, equipment budget efficiently and referring and reporting to the ED Nurse Unit Manager. Recording and ongoing coordination of required annual Equipment refreshers, and training for Emergency Department staff is implemented and tracked accordingly.

The Emergency Department Equipment Nurse is a Senior ED Nurse with demonstrated knowledge of working with the range of ED equipment and a high quality of clinical care. With the support of their Nurse Unit Manager, ensures that professional standards, codes and behaviours that are legislated through NMBA and EH policies are upheld.

The Emergency Department at Maroondah Hospital cares for approximately 60,000 patients per year, averaging 165 presentations per day. It comprises 35 cubicles and treatment areas, including; 3 resuscitation bays, dedicated paediatric and fast track treatment areas, and a 20 bed short stay unit.

The successful applicant will be well supported in a team environment. Previous experience working within ambulatory physiotherapy (including managing home and centre based clients) is preferred, as is leading group based therapy and hydrotherapy classes.
